BrickCon 2011 Loot

BrickCon 2011 Loot
All right you suckers, I’m back from BrickCon and boy have I got some loot!

Now, some of it may seem a touch awkward or random, but there is at least some method to my madness!

Check the notes for a quick whats what, the details are right below here;

World Racer Sets: (8864+8898)
I grabbed these because honestly I think its a fantastic theme with shit tons of playability and because I have only about 2, maybe 3 kinds of wheel, all of them VERY old. ALSO SOME ON, Upgrading your dune buggy in the middle of a race with an off road 18 wheel and awesome trailer? How is that NOT Awesome? I actually think I’ll be building these before parting them out into my collection.

Street Speeder(6743) + Moon Buggy(3365)
Moon buggy was just for the wheels/axles for the aforementioned lack of wheel related parts, same with the street speeder but also cause its got a fair number of basic parts to it as well and might give me a bit of a primer to car building. I will be building all 3 models of this to kinda help wrap my head around car building a bit.

Alien Defender(7050)
Bascially, I wanted some of the new pistols, and I get 2 per set as well as some old school revolvers in dark bley and with the fig and even just the basic parts, the whole set is win-win as far as I’m concerned.

Sith Infiltrator(7961)
Okay, this one was kinda random, but I should get some nice bley plates and wedges out of it.

Pick a Brick Cups
So the PaB wall in Seattle isn’t the biggest evar, but with the state of my collect, Anything and Everything I can get my hands on is a boon. I must have grabbed a big of everything off that wall. Now they aren’t super amazingly packed, but decent enough, remember that I didn’t need to fit X amount of part Y into Z Cups or anything, so I mashed what I could and voila!

Bags of assorted parts
These I just kinda happened upon on Friday I think it was, it was basically a buck a bag, looking back I should have grabbed a second bag of the Bricks with Ball Sockets, but oh well, got some neat parts out of it.

15$ Large Bag
Basically a bunch of trays just had "Garage Sale" LEGO poured into them, fill the bag till you can just barely close it! Just like PaB xD

I’ll do a separate thing for the BrickArms later(don’t worry, I wasn’t infected by the Proto-tard Virus, was mainly buying for my Faction.)

Recipe: Ham Florentine Mini-Cups

Recipe: Ham Florentine Mini-Cups
DESCRIPTION

A stunning appetizer will add a "Wow" to your next get-together.

INGREDIENTS

1 box (9 oz) Green Giant® frozen spinach, thawed, squeezed to drain
1/3 cup garlic-and-herbs spreadable cheese
1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (1 oz)
1/4 cup shredded 5-cheese or 6-cheese Italian cheese blend (1 oz)
3 tablespoons freshly grated Pecorino Romano or regular Romano cheese
2 tablespoons finely chopped shallot or onion
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon salt, if desired
1/8 teaspoon pepper, if desired
1 can (8 oz) Pillsbury® refrigerated crescent dinner rolls or 1 can (8 oz) Pillsbury® Crescent Recipe Creations™ refrigerated flaky dough sheet
24 paper-thin slices (about 4 inch diameter) smoked ham (from two 9-oz packages)*
Freshly grated Parmesan cheese, if desired

DIRECTIONS

1.Heat oven to 375°F. In medium bowl, mix all ingredients except dough, ham and Parmesan cheese until well blended. Set aside.

2.Unroll dough. Separate or cut dough into 4 rectangles (if using crescent dough, press perforations to seal). Cut each rectangle into 6 (2-inch) squares. Press 1 square in bottom and up side of each of 24 ungreased mini muffin cups.

3.Pat each ham slice dry with paper towel. Place 1 ham slice over dough in each cup (edges of ham will be higher than side of cup.) Spoon rounded 1 teaspoon spinach mixture onto ham in center of each cup.

4.Bake 14 to 18 minutes or until crust is golden brown and filling is hot. To prevent excessive browning of ham, cover lightly with foil after first 5 minutes of baking. Cool in pan 1 minute. Gently remove from pan; let stand 3 minutes. Sprinkle lightly with Parmesan cheese before serving. Serve warm.

*For recipe success, whole paper-thin slices (about 4 inch diameter) of smoked ham (not shaved ham) are needed so slices can be easily formed into the dough-lined cups.

High Altitude (3500-6500 ft): No change.
